Travel to La Foret Conference and Retreat Center in the Black Forest area of Colorado Springs. Originally the summer home of Mrs. Alice Bemis Taylor, Ponderosa Lodge was built in 1928 by J.J.B. Benedict, a pioneer in the Rustic Style of architecture, and features soaring cathedral ceilings, striking wood-burning fireplaces, and original wrought-iron fixtures. Extra seating in an amazing loft overlooks both sides of the main hall. Four additional rooms are available for a Costumes Green Room and vending. One of the two bathrooms is handicap accessible. Ponderosa Lodge can accommodate 75 people.
Classes and Concerts will be in Ponderosa Hall.
Percussion Classes are in Lower Fire Circle or Indian Paintbrush Cabin.
We are lodged in Columbine and Indian Paintbrush Cabins, which have four rooms and DOUBLE bunk beds.
Bedding may be rented for $15 from La Foret or you may bring your own.
We have group Dining Hall meal times starting with Lunch Friday the 7th and ending with Lunch Sunday the 9th at 12:15.
Gluten Free and other Diets available.
Guests may bring extra labeled meal supplements and store them in the kitchen refrigerator.
In addition to the full meal plan that La Foret provides during the day, Tarab Retreat Staff will provide 10:00 PM Middle Eastern Snacks and Halfla Party to draw us back inside from the Lower Amphitheater Fire Circle.
We have the Ponderosa Lodge to ourselves the entire weekend and late night is the best time for quieter, acoustic concerts and jam sessions.. and dancing.
Light Alcohol (Beer/Wine) will be available for suggested donation during the Late Night Cabaret - please refrain from bringing hard alcohol per La Foret requ
